Hyundai Eon, the entry level global small car from the stable of Hyundai Motors might face tough competition to new launching Datsun's small car. Recently, Nissan which is reviver of Datsun brand has announced that it will launch sub-Rs 4 lakh cars in India under its Datsun brand.
The company reported that the new Datsun small car will give rigid competition to Maruti Alto, Wagon R, Hyundai Eon, Santro and Tata Nano. Currently, India's entry level small car market is showing high growth and all the car makers of India taking interest in this segment. So, Nissan India will also enter this segment very. The new Datsun small car will be available between Rs 3 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh which is expected to provide a rigid competition to Eon, Alto, Nano and Chevrolet Spark. Right now, Hyundai Eon price, Tata Nano price and Maruti Alto price are also under Rs 4 lakh.
The Japanese second largest automaker, Nissan is reviving the Datsun brand and has plans to launch two Datsun cars in India, Russia and Indonesia, because countries have buzz demand for entry level small cars. And all these new launching Datsun cars will be offered as entry level. The company will start these new Datsun cars launch by the end of year. The first entry level small car of Datsun will be offered under the starting price range of Nissan Micra. So, a tough competition will be available to see in Indian small car market.
On the other hand, Hyundai India that manages the position of number second largest car maker in the country, will try to bring something new. Already Hyundai Eon has been popular and now the company has started its export for various countries. It is too concerned that this beautiful small car would be capable to take on the sales mark of the Maruti Alto by near future.

Hyundai Eon emerges best selling small cars in India!
Right now Indian passenger car buyers are going for fuel economical car due to sky rocketing fuel prices. So, the graph of the small cars in terms of sales is increasing with unexpected growth. Hyundai Motors India Limited has announced the sales figures for the Month of March this year and the small car Hyundai Eon reported buzz sales response in this month.
Not only Hyundai Eon but other entry level fuel efficient small cars such as Tata Nano and Maruti Alto have also reported high sales figures and emerged best selling small cars in India. All the Indian car makers have announced the sales figures month of March and Maruti's Alto, Tata's Nano and Hyundai's Eon have driven the sales mark of these companies.
The demand for below Rs. 3.5 lakh priced small car was tremendous in last month. Hyundai Eon price is between Rs. 2.74 lakh to Rs. 3.76 lakh at ex-showroom Delhi. And, the Korean auto major sold 12500 units of the Eon during the month of March this year which is more than sale of big hatchbacks Hyundai Santro (5,359 units) and i10 (10,157 units) during the same month.
On the other hand, Maruti sold 35245 units of Maruti Alto in March this year while, Tata sold 10475 units of Tata Nano in the month of March 2012. Category wise the sales graph of A segment small car reported a growth of 11.18 per cent at total sales of 62385 units in March this year. Overall, due to rising fuel prices Indian customers are looking for fuel economical small cars and a bad effect on big hatchback was available to see during last month.
