Hyundai Verna outplayed by Nissan Sunny in March 2012

It is all known that Hyundai's fluidic sedan Hyundai Verna is remarking buzz response from buyers against a lot of same segment rivals. But, in March this year Hyundai Verna has been outplayed by the new C segment sedan Nissan Sunny. In March this year Hyundai sold 4,132 units of the Verna fluidic, while Nissan Sunny touched the sales mark of 4,151 units in this month. With this great sales mark of 4,151 Nissan Sunny has been C segment leader in Indian domestic market.

In terms of sales, Nissan Sunny is not only one step ahead of Hyundai Verna but also it has taken over the sales mark of other popular cars such as Honda City (3,920 units) and Volkswagen Vento (3,908 units) have also been taken in month of March 2012. Following the increase in excise duty up to 2 per cent for Budget 2012-13 Hyundai Verna price has also been increased for each variant. Now all the variants of the Verna fluidic are available at price range of Rs. 7.11 lakh to Rs. 11.26 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. On the other hand, Nissan Sunny price is being offered at the range of Rs. 5.93 lakh to Rs. 8.93 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.

Hyundai Verna is one of the most popular sedan cars in India and vailable in both petrol and diesel version with two engine trims such as 1.4L and 1.6L for each version. Meanwhile, Nissan Sunny also offer both petrol which packed with 1.5L petrol power train and diesel that comes loaded with 1.5L, 1461cc, 4 cylinder K9K diesel engine. Nissan India reported a growth of 180 per cent in March this year at record sales of 5880 units. Meanwhile, Hyundai India sold 59,229 car units in March this year and reported a growth of 6.6 per cent.

Ford, Nissan and Skoda sales grew in March 2012

As we reported that Indian automobile industry is coming in good sales level in year 2012 after showing a good rise in car sale in the month of March 2012. Along with country's big car makers, fastest growing car have also reported overwhelming sales in this month. Ford, Nissan and Skoda are cheering the highest sales mark of their cars in India in March this year. Here's a consolidated car sales report of these fastest growing car makers over March 2012.

Ford India, in March this year sold over 12,000 cars including domestic sales and export. Export of the company grew by 74 percent in the first of this year at 7,163 cars when compared to 4,106 cars sold in same period of last year. Ford Figo premium hatchback and Ford Fiesta mid-sized sedan pushed back the sales mark of the company. Now Ford will launch already hit compact SUV Ford Ecosport in India.


Meanwhile, another fastest growing car maker, Nissan India reports its highest ever monthly sales in March 2012. The company reported a sales growth of 180 per cent with a record sell 5880 units in March this year over the March 2011 figures of 2,101 units. The Japanese auto major sold over 4,153 units of all new Nissan Sunny in March this year while 1,680 units of flagship premium hatchback Nissan Micra's sold. Other popular models such as the Nissan Teana, X-Trail SUV and the 370z sports have also reported positive sales.

Czech car maker Skoda Auto reported a growth of 50 per cent this year. The company's sales were driven by its newly launched sedan Skoda Rapid. The company reported that year 2011 was the most successful year its corporate history. It sold over 879,200 units of Skoda cars in India in year 2011 which is more 50 per cone than compare to whole sales of year 2010. The company has increased the Rapid's production capacity to 3000 units in March this from 2,000 units in February this year.

Ford Fiesta:

Ford India, had also launched its new global sedan Ford Fiesta in the Indian domestic market which was very well admired due to amazing performance and impressive fuel economy. It is being offered in both petrol and diesel models which are available in the price bracket of Rs.8.23 lakh to Rs. 10.42 lakh at ex-showroom Delhi.

Skoda Rapid:

Skoda Rapid was the new entered c segment sedan car model in the Indian auto market from the stable of Czech auto major Skoda. The sedan is well known for mileage and great performance along with eye-catchy body design. Skoda Rapid price for both petrol and diesel models is in the bracket of Rs. 6.75 lakh to Rs. 9.19 lakh at ex-showroom Delhi.

Nissan Sunny:

Nissan Motors, the leading Japanese auto major had also offered the new C segment sedan, Nissan Sunny to the Indian customers in the price range of Rs. 5.78 lakh to Rs. 8.78 lakh at ex-showroom Delhi. It is available in both petrol and diesel models which are great fuel efficient and performer in the segment.

New Honda City:

The much anticipated New Honda City had also been launched in the year 2011 which is more premier than old model and had been offered in unbelievable price range. The company launched the standard variant of popular sedan at Rs. 6.99 lakh while the top-end variant is available at Rs. 10.22 lakh.
